happy february, friends!
this past week was filled with a lot of firsts for me. most excitingly, i was able to full-time teach as my cooperating teacher had to stay home with a sick child. is it wrong to celebrate a child's cold because it means i get to take the reigns? meh, probably a little. anyway, i really got to see a different side of my kids when my cooperating teacher was out. it was a small glimpse of what a classroom of mine own might look like and it both scares and excites me. a few funnies to brighten up your saturday: girl: so miss d, i took a poop pill this morning. me: a what? girl: a poop pill. you know, because i've been pooping my pants a lot lately. me: you have? girl: yeah, not here but at home. anyway, my mom gave me a pill and told me that if i feel weird i should tell you. me: bless her. tell you what, if you feel weird give me a nod and we'll find someone else to deal with the poop ok? girl: deal. later... boy: miss d, i have to tell you something. me: shoot, man. what's up? boy: well, we discussed it and it's been decided that your hair looks better down. me: who discussed this? boy: we all did. it's for the best, miss d. thanks. as you can see these nugs have more personality than an snl character and i feel truly thankful that i get to be a part of their hilarity. who knows what's to come next week but with a birthday and some glitter in the works i'd say we're in for a fantastic week. peace out, homies. xo
