dearest teawithmissd enthusiasts (aka dad and nana),
i apologize for my inexcusable delay in posting but i promise i have good reasons. i write to you this evening from my bed in my new apartment while eating leftover spaghetti...because, i am an adult and i'll eat spaghetti in my bed if i please. first thing to note, i have a classroom full of eager and hilarious first and second graders. as i enter into my third week of teaching here are a few of my favorite moments thus far. -while in mass: tiny peanut asks 100 percent seriously as she rests her head on my shoulder, "miss d, is there a baby in your tummy?" no. but thanks for the confidence boost. -while discussing what we would do over the weekend if we could do anything: "i think i would buy a dolphin and name him herald." cool. -during writing time i complimented a nugget on his diligence and he responded by telling me, "you know me, i just do what i can. working with what i got." respect man, respect. in other news, i have a dog. and not just any dog. a purebred, weighs more than me, snores like a hound, total diva bloodhound. her name is daisy and she is perfection. my apartment is a lovely three bedroom space with hardwood floors and french doors. it sits over the local hardware store and everyday when i return from school a pack of happy old men greet me and ask me, "how are the young today?" it's fantastic, it really is. my weekends are spent mainly in cincinnati exploring exquisite places like IKEA and community dog parks. overall, i'd say i'm adjusting to small town life rather well. i have a wonderful group of family and friends to thank for that. i feel so lucky to be where i am. to know these great people. to live this life. i am so fortunate and grateful. i'll write again soon, ld

Your latest blog is so funny!!! I miss you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much! The part about Herald the Dolphin is so something my friend Seth (or this kid named Mitchell in my choir class) would say! I used to love it when you came over to our house. Text sometime. :) 214-713-7403
